Background‍

Banaban virgin coconut oil is a project born out of Vodafone /Ath Fiji Foundation which was initiated for Banaban women's organisation at Rabi Island, Fiji in 2010. In 2014, the factory was established and commissioned by Commissioner Northern. The main objective is to create a positive impact on the lives of local women by creating employment and income generation opportunities through the processing of pure virgin coconut oil and the purchase of raw materials, i.e. coconuts. Today, Banaban virgin coconut oil factory has not only impacted the lives of 200 women but also the lives of over 1,000 members of our community at Rabi Island.

In 2019, Banaban virgin coconut oil was awarded the best virgin coconut oil of the year during the agriculture show held in Suva. In 2020, Rabi Island was certified Organic.

-Scented virgin coconut oils in orange, quava, gardenia, basil vanilla for body massage and body perfume.

-Homemade natural soaps such as honey, charcoal, noni, tumeric for skin infections

-Natural Body scrub used as a skin cleanser

-Coconut Dried Meal cooked for animal feed

-Wet meal cooked for coconut tea.
